YOu won't think that this is a knife sharpener at first. It's stylish. It looked more like a speaker.
It sharpens your knife in three stages. And I have learned that If your knife is super dull go ahead do all 3 stages. If just dull 2 stages is good enough. And the last stage which is the FINE is good before you use your knife. I do wish though engraved which is coarse, medium and fine. I know it's common sense and there's always the manual but just for convenience purposes. It gives you a good grip while sharpening the knife coz of it shape. Your palm seats perfectly on the space provided and it has this protective ring between the sharpening part and your hand if in case you slipped the knife.
AS with it's functionality, I am impressed with how it did sharpen my knives. The mechanism inside the slots aren't like the ones I have. This has 2 disc in each slide facing laterally. It glides through your knife and that's how it sharpens it. With that, it is not too harsh on the knives. I didn't hear the grating sound I always hear with other ones. I don't have ceramic ones so I couldn't try that disclaimer that you can sharpen ceramic ones here. I have other sharpeners that has specific slot for ceramics but not this one. So I'm a little amazed. I will have to try that. I received this item for free in exchange for my unbiased and honest review.
